"... Our Servicemen and women are serving throughout the world as guardians of peace--many of them away from their homes, their friends and their families. They are visible evidence of our determination to meet any threat to the peace with measured strength and high resolve. They are also evidence of a harsh but inescapable truth--that the survival of freedom requires great cost and commitment, and great personal sacrifice."
Saluting our Military Men and Women!
Dr. Ted Gross is Honoring His Father, a WWII Veteran with participation in Freedom Day. Take a look at a segment from the book below.
I would like to honor my recently deceased WWII army veteran father on this day. You asked if I would forward some information about him. His name is Walter Werner Gross and he served with the 522nd Field Artillery serving as an aide to his colonel. He fought during the action at Normandy and at the Battle of the Bulge. He wrote a short book of his many very interesting experiences. I've attached two pages from the book dealing with his first day in the army. I think it demonstrates how military people selflessly feel about this important responsibility of serving the country.
Best,
Ted Gross, DDS
